Master He Wei originally designed the second set.-Qi in collaboration With Professor Lin Hou-Sheng began her career in the early 1980s. Sheng has been promoted to millions across Asia. The second set is slightly more complex and physically demanding that the first. Although it is not as simple to remember as the original Tai Chi Chuan, it is still very easy to do.
Master Cheung Master He met with me in Shanghai in 2006 to discuss all details of the 2nd set as well as the possibility of changing it. This DVD contains a slightly modified version of the original, which makes it easier to remember and doesn’t diminish any benefits. Master will be taught on this DVD. Cheung The mirror technique allows him to see the form from different angles simultaneously. The poster is a great tool for learning the second set. The DVD and the poster should allow you to master the second set in a matter of weeks.
The 2nd set’s movements are more demanding than the 1st, so it is recommended that one perform the 1st sets (maybe two repetitions per movement) as a warm-up before moving on to the 2nd set. The DVD also contains proper closing techniques for the qigong exercises.
The 1st set focuses more on opening the meridians in the arms. This is why most people feel the qi on the palms after they have done the 1st set. The second set focuses more on opening the meridians in the legs. This qigong is great for improving balance and people who practice it feel different when they meditate. During meditation, people often feel numbness in their legs when they sit cross legged or in a kneeling position for a long period of time. This is because the qi is unable to flow freely on the legs. The practitioners are unable to enter a low alpha or theta state of mind for deep meditation due to the numbness sensation. The second set is more focused upon opening the meridians in the legs. This allows practitioners to experience deeper meditation. The 2nd set can also be used to prepare for Zhan Zhuang (standing Qigong), which is an excellent practice for accumulating qi.
